There are a lot of rumors surrounding the iPhone 5 ahead of its October release, including one which has resurfaced about logs showing an iPhone 5 dual mode which can run GSM and CDMA. These leaked logs reportedly show that several people have tested an app using an iPhone 5 and running iOS 5 which distinctly features two sets of mobile network codes (MNC) and mobile country codes (MCC).
These code sets are used to provide a unique ID to each mobile carrier. The developer asked that the app not be named, but the logs clearly showed that an Apple device was using MNC/MCC codes from both AT&T and Verizon. Macrumors also posted an image of the Qualcomm MDM6600 world mode chip set which is already available in the CDMA iPad 2 and iPhone 4.

Whether an artist, writer, or anyone else who can use greater portability of their personal electronic devices, the tablet is a great option! As illustrated in this video of Fatsarazzi using the Samsung Galaxy Tab, for example, tablets give a whole new level of portability. Not as heavy or bulky as laptops, and giving a bigger screen than smartphones, tablets are slim, light, and can literally be held like a tablet, used like a camera or video recorder, or stood up on a surface to read from. They also can be used to listen to music and, of course, have internet connectivity and can be used for phone calls, including video calls, so truly, all things considered, you're good to go with a tablet!
This has far-reaching implications for portability. For example, my neighbor is starting to get arthritis in her hands. A laptop is a bit much for her to move around, while a tablet is more manageable for her. Also, a smartphone is too minute for her fingers to navigate, while a tablet is much easier. This device can really be freeing for so many people. It slips so easily into bags, or sits on laps without weighing too much, or, as already mentioned, can be stood up on its own. It can also be used to read books and watch movies. All these uses, in so portable a form, can really help people have ready access to many resources as well as stay connected with their contacts. How liberating and reassuring for many this device can be.
