FCC Study Praises Broadband Providers For Delivering Good Internet Speeds

Many broadband users are annoyed while downloading files from the internet because the actual download speeds always seem to be lesser than the speeds advertised by the broadband providers. But a study by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) shows that companies providing residential broadband are doing a decent job of delivering their advertised speeds.
The study took into account the performance of residential broadband internet by 13 major companies, including AT&T, Time Warner Cable, Verizon and Comcast Corp. for the month of March. Broadband providers advertise high speeds, but these are the maximum they can deliver. FCC said that broadband providers were offering 80% of their advertised speeds even during peak hours of usage. But the study also found that internet speeds vary from one broadband provider to the other.
