Apple Smart Phones At The Top!
According to the US analyst firm, International Data Corporation, Apple has topped the smart phone rankings while Blackberry slipped to the fourth. Apple took the lead by shipping 20.3 million iPhones in its quarterly results that were released in the third week of July.
Due to this, the smart phone market jumped to 65.4 percent during this quarter. Apple shipped millions of smart phones thereby raising its global market to 19.1 percent. On the other hand, Blackberry only shipped 12.4 million smart phones, thereby claiming the fourth position. Samsung came second by shipping 17.3 million smart phones during the period and Nokia 16.7 million shipments.
According to reports, the demand for smart phones has been so strong that old models are still being sought out. The volume of sales is expected to achieve higher levels in the later part of the year.
